Earthenware: A heavy duty style of pottery with a rustic appearance
Porcelain: Extremely strong and incredibly smooth with a translucent appearance. It’s the finest of all ceramics
Stoneware: A heavy ceramic, dense in structure and suitable for everyday use

Can I melt down vintage milk glass?
I was wondering if I could use my minor burner to melt an old antique bowl into glass rods for craft use. The torch is not really the question, the torch will melt Pyrex, It’s really a question whether there are any harmful chemicals in the glass that can damage me
Sure, but you may not end up with white glass when you get done. Some white glass is made opaque white with tin compounds and it should stay white while others are fluorine compounds which tend to revert to clear when reheated to melting. The fluorine may fume, not sure how well it is encased chemically.
You do know that the glass is unlikely to work with your soft glass and definitely will not work with Pyrex because of the difference in COE? You will have to, once you have melted some, pair it with your other glass and pull a bicolor thread with the two colors side-by-side. If the thread curves as it cools, the COEs do not match and it is likely that anything made with those two will break or show internal cracks.
